Short version: I collect what you type into a form, and very little else.
Who this covers
This site, dannysobek.com, is run by Danny Sobek, trading as DS Design Co., in Cleveland, Ohio. If anything here is unclear, email dannysobek@gmail.com.
What is collected
- Forms. When you send a project brief, request the Building a Brand guide, or join the occasional-notes list, the fields you fill in (name, email, company, and whatever you write) are stored by Netlify, which hosts the site and handles form submissions, and are emailed to me.
- Email. The guide and the occasional notes are sent through Resend. Your email address and first name are stored there so the messages can go out. If you request the guide, you will also get a few follow-up emails about it and about working with me. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and one click stops them.
- Booking. The "Pick a time" button opens Calendly inside this site. Anything you enter there is handled by Calendly under its own policy.
- Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how pages are used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are from, and how people move around a page. Clarity records anonymised session replays. Neither is used for advertising, and a note on your first visit lets you opt out of both with one click.
- Media. Long-form video is served from Cloudflare, which sees the usual request details (IP address, browser) when a video loads.
Cookies and storage
The analytics tools set their own cookies to tell returning visitors apart. The site itself stores a few small flags in your browser: whether you have seen the analytics note and what you chose, whether the free-guide prompt has shown this session, and whether you have already asked for the guide. Nothing in that storage identifies you.
What it is used for
To reply to you, to send what you asked for, and to understand which parts of the site are working. Your details are never sold or shared for marketing, and I do not run advertising.
How long it is kept
Form submissions stay in Netlify and my inbox until the conversation is over and a reasonable time after. List subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept on the providers' default retention.
Your choices
Ask and I will tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Unsubscribe links work immediately. Most browsers let you block analytics cookies, and the site works fine without them.
Changes
